Susan M. Rice

Susan Margaret (Kenny) Rice, 76, of New Springfield, passed away on April 11, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Boardman Campus. She was born on November 11, 1948, to Joseph and Margaret (McClaren) Kenny in Youngstown, Ohio.

Susan graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School. In December of 1966, she married her husband, Galen. First and foremost, she was a mother and homemaker. She worked as a key punch operator for Sheet & Tube, a teller at banks in New Middletown and Columbiana and, as a cashier at Nemenz Little Shopper.

Susan loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping and all the friends she made through the years.

She is survived by her husband, Galen L. Rice, daughter, Tricia (Greg) Beight, son, Tom (Laura) Rice, sister, Patricia “Patsy” (Howard) Hudson, brother-in-law, Ray (Cindy) Rice, sisters-in-law, Shelby (Ron) Gwin, and Joanne Kenny, grandchildren, Patrick Beight, Megan Beight, Dawson Rice, Madison Baird, Brayden Baird, and Buddy her beloved dog.

In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her in-laws, Charles and Doris (Cyrus) Rice, her sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Otto Drieling, a brother, John Kenny and a nephew, Doug Gwin.

As per Susan's request, there will be no services. A memorial will be held at a later date.
