Samuel Wright Seltzer, 65, of Bessemer, peacefully passed away the evening of March 25, 2026, at Avalon Springs nursing facility with his family by his side.
He was born on October 30, 1960, in Mr. Jackson, PA. The son of the late Margaret "Peg" (Crea) Seltzer and John "Jack" Seltzer.
Sam worked a variety of jobs before becoming a chef and eventually working at a resort in Sun Valley, Idaho. He returned to Pennsylvania and married the love of his life, Susan (Best) Seltzer, who preceded him in death. Sam loved the outdoors and spending his time fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his friends and was known as the life of the party. In recent years, he volunteered his time and talent preparing meals for people in need. He always was interested in the lives of his nieces and nephews and loved them all.
In addition to his father who resides in Mt. Jackson, PA, Sam is survived by his sister, Denise Malik (Andy) of Corpus Christi, Texas; his brother, Scott Seltzer (Sandra) of New Castle; nieces, Jennifer Lynn Malik (Brandon Yusko) of Evans City, PA, and Kaitlin Seltzer of Wexford, PA; and nephews, Alex Seltzer (Alyssa) of Oakdale, PA and Matthew Seltzer (Grace) of Kissimmee, FL. Sam is also survived by his sister-in-law Karen Campbell of Bessemer, PA.
A memorial service will be held at Mt. Jackson Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 10:00 am.
