Ruth E. Peace

Ruth E. Peace, 94, of Hillsville, PA, passed away peacefully and joined her husband Allen in heaven on the evening of December 27, 2024, at her daughter’s house in Michigan with family members around her.

Ruth was born on Wednesday, January 29, 1930, in Indiana County PA. She was one of 12 children born to the late Edward E. and Mabel I. Shields. Ruth married the late Allen R. Peace on May 25, 1952, and enjoyed 55 years of marriage until his passing.

She was Protestant and attended the Gospel Baptist Church in Poland, Ohio. She enjoyed baking, cooking, traveling, crocheting, and caring for her family.

Ruth will be lovingly remembered by, her son, Randy Peace, and his fiancée Sandra Wilder of Edinberg, PA; daughter, Debbie Barth (Don Jr.) of Kimball, MI, and son, Scott Peace (Laurie) of Louisville, KY; sister, Winnie Eardley; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mabel,  her husband Allen, his parents, twins, Terri and Jerry Peace, four brothers and six sisters, and grandson Michael Peace.

Friends and family will be received from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Terry Cunningham Funeral Home, 203 Oak St., Bessemer, PA 16112, and again from 9:30-10:00 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2025, at the funeral home. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Royalty officiating. A private burial will take place at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Clearfield County.
