Robert (Bob) Verzilli lifelong resident of Bessemer, PA., lost his battle to a brief illness on September 6, 2022, at the Hospice House of Poland, Ohio
Bob was born in Bessemer on October 20, 1938, the son of the late Leopoldo and Theresa (Olive) Verzilli. Bob was a graduate of Bessemer High School and soon after enlisted in the Marine Corps. Bob was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He retired as a steel worker in 1980. Bob married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Carol (Best) Verzilli in 1959; they spent 60 wonderful years together.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Diane Verzilli, with whom he made his home, a sister, Pauline Verzilli of Boardman, Ohio, a sister-in-law, Kathleen Verzilli of Canfield, Ohio, a brother-in-law, Ron Best of Hillsville, PA., and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, two sisters, Mary Riggio, and Janice (Dolly) Warren, two brothers, Leo and David Verzilli, and three nephews, Larry Riggio, and George and Charles Warren.
A memorial service will be held by his family on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 6:30 pm officiated by Rev. David Verzilli, at the Terry Cunningham Funeral Home in Bessemer. Family and friends may visit from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm.
