Janice "Jan" L. Rogers, 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 2, of natural causes. Jan was
born in Youngstown, Ohio, on August 4, 1943, and was the daughter of David Avery and Eileen
Wester.
She worked at Tupperware and Farmers National Bank and for many years had her
own business named Jan's Tax Service. She married Charles "Charlie" E. Rogers on April 15,
1983, and was an outstanding member of both the Girard Eagles Aerie 2172 and the
Youngstown Eagles Aerie 213, as well as a member of the Johnson Club in Hillsville, Penn.
Jan leaves behind four children: Lori (Jeff) Patterson of North Lima, Ohio; Colleen (Tim) Zipf of
Sparta, Tenn.; Donna Frazier of Stow, Ohio; and Charles "Randy" R. (Cindy) Rogers of Traverse
City, Mich. She is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family grieves her loss but takes comfort in knowing that she has a special place in heaven.
A memorial service will be held at the Terry Cunningham Funeral Home at 203 Oak St. in
Bessemer, Penn., on Saturday, July 13, at 1 p.m., followed by a celebration of life at the
Youngstown Eagles, 451 Miller St., beginning at 3 p.m. Committal of ashes will be at Petersburg
(Ohio) Cemetery during a private service with family.
