Gina Fiore

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Gina Gayle (Penwell) Fiore.  Gina passed away peacefully at her home on January 2, 2025.  Gina, a daughter of Thomas and Virginia (Macri) Penwell, was born on May 6, 1957, in New Castle, Pa.  She was a 1975 graduate of Mohawk High School.  She was employed by Bruce & Merrilees and then Yates Electric where she retired in 2019.  She was a dedicated, hard-working employee who made many life-long friends during her working years.  She was a member of the Johnson Club, Croatian Club, and SNPJ.

She married the love of her life, Danny Fiore, on May 23, 1992.  They were inseparable and built a beautiful, loving, happy life together.  Gina was the heart and soul of the family.  Whatever we needed she was always there for each and every one of us.  Her home was where everybody got together for holidays and birthdays.  She loved cooking and having everyone there.

Gina enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, shopping, going to the beach, and playing bingo.  But what she cherished most was her family, and especially her grandchildren.  She loved attending their baseball, football, and soccer games.  Gina dedicated her life to caring for her family.  She put everyone above herself.  Her heart was full of love, and you always felt safe and secure because she was always there for you.  Gina was one of a kind.  She was an answered prayer to all of our lives.  She was the best wife, mom, Mammaw, and sister.  She will be truly missed.  Her passing has left a hole in all of our hearts.

Gina loved having fun.  Her earlier years were filled with many happy times with her close-knit cousins and life-long friends.

Gina’s greatest joy and love was her daughter Carly.  Carly was her heart.

Gina is survived by her loving husband Danny, her daughter Carly Long (Larry Jr.), and her son Eugene Fiore (Ashley).  Her grandchildren, Braxden and Liliana Long, and Geno, Luca, and Denny Fiore.  Her beloved sister, Charlene Sasiadek (Kenny), and her beloved brother Tommy Penwell (Marsha).  Nephew Thomas Penwell III (fiancé Shania), niece Emily Kilgore (Davey).  Great nephew Thomas Penwell IV.

In addition to her parents, Gina was preceded in death by her grandson, Brody Joseph Long.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St. New Middletown, Ohio.
