Gary Lautenslager, age 68 of New Castle, passed away on July 29, 2025, at UPMC Jameson after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 5, 1957, in New Castle, PA, the son of the late Bette Giancola and Lewis Lautenslager.
Gary was an electrician by trade and worked at the Borough of Bessemer before retirement. Gary enjoyed being at his camp, being outdoors, and spending time with his family. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who wanted his help. Gary’s infectious laugh and warm spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Gary is survived by his wife, Susan, whom he married on October 17, 2015; daughter, Melissa Rogers (Bill); stepson, Braden Criscito (Alyssa); stepdaughter, Kayla Criscito (Andy Gramsky); and six grandchildren, whom he cherished endlessly. He is also survived by his two sisters, Cindy Glass (Gary) and Lisa Calabrese (David); his brother, Joe Giancola; his mother and father-in-law, Gary and Becky Thomas; and his brother-in-law, Scott Thomas.
Along with his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his stepfather, Alfred Giancola.
According to Gary's wishes, no services will be held.
