Donna S. (Snyder) Yardas

Poland-  Donna S. Yardas, beloved wife, mom and grandma, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2025.  She was born on August 27, 1937 in Bessemer, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Alvin C. and Jennie (Boyt) Snyder. 

She graduated from Bessemer High School in 1955 and earned a beautician’s license. She was employed by the Johnson Bronze Company of New Castle and the Diamond Shamrock Corporation in Bessemer.  She married Ronald W. Yardas on December 28, 1963.

Donna was a full time homemaker who enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, canning and baking.  She disliked cooking but always had something on the stove ready to eat, just like her mother.

During her life, she was a member of the Canfield Garden Club, the Wings of Shasta camping club, the Bessemer Croatian Club and the Johnson Club.  As a member of the Bessemer Presbyterian Church, she was active in the woman’s auxiliary, rotary dinners and the quilting club.  She also traveled to watch as many of her grandkids sporting events as possible. She loved them dearly.

She is survived by her husband, her son, and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Patty, and her two grandchildren, Jennifer and Ron.  Also survived by a brother, Jerry Snyder (Mickie), a nephew, and a niece.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by an infant sister.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the Terry Cunningham Funeral Home, Bessemer PA.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 11:00 am also at the funeral home.
