New Castle - Donna Lee (Peterson) McGraw, 82, affectionately called MeMe by her grandchildren, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on June 12, 2025, surrounded by her family and listening to music by Toby Keith. She was born on November 20, 1942, in Rochester, PA, to Alexander and Marie (Maier) Peterson.
Donna married Thomas Owen McGraw on September 19, 1964. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2016. Together, they had three daughters, Sonia Hunter, Tracey (Terry) Meanor, and Lesley (Randy) Hofius. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish Lawrence County, and a former member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 638.
Donna loved spending time with her friends and family. She enjoyed playing bingo, shopping, watching the Pittsburgh Penguins, wearing large dangly earrings, and listening to Toby Keith.
Donna is survived by, her three daughters; ten grandchildren, Thomas (Samantha) Emery, Owen (Amber) Meanor, Garrett Meanor, Allison (Derrek) Cook, Mikayla Meanor, Kasidy (Aaron Kokoruda) Hunter, Alaina (Blaine) McKeough, Vincent Soukovich, Madison Soukovich, and Meadow Hofius; ten great grandchildren, Savannah, Emma, Mason, Carmelina, Bailey, Logan, Avery, Lydia, Abigail and Hayes; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by her siblings, Ronald Peterson, Robert Peterson, Ruth Hovanec, and Marlene Pasteur.
The family would like to thank Family Hospice of UPMC and Father Ben Barr for all of their help through this difficult time.
A celebration of life will be held on July 6, 2025, at her daughter’s home. She will be laid to rest in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Bessemer, Pennsylvania.
