Charles “Charlie” A. Emelko, 74, of Bessemer, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, at Masternick Memorial in New Middletown, Ohio. Born on October 15, 1951, he was the son of the late Joseph W. and Louise T. (Schneider) Emelko.
On May 1, 1976, Charlie married the love of his life, Judy (Dobrich) Emelko, and together they shared nearly 50 years of devotion, partnership, and laughter. Charlie spent his career as a truck driver for Hazmat Environmental, until his retirement.
Charlie was a proud member of the Croatian Club and the Johnson Club. He loved the outdoors and found joy in simple moments outside. An avid golfer, he played in a Sunday league for many years, cherishing both the game and the friendships it brought him.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Emelko; several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; his brother‑in‑law, Steve Dobrich (Sue); and his half sister‑in‑law, Pat Emelko.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his half brother, Gene Emelko, and his brother‑in‑law, Robert “Dobie” Dobrich.
In keeping with Charlie’s wishes, no calling hours or services will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to the family’s heart.
