Carl McConnell, 72, of Bessemer, passed away peacefully at his home on November 3, 2023.
Carl was born on September 27, 1951, in New Brighton, PA. Son of the late Kenneth and Mae Goddard McConnell. Carl worked as a painter and business agent for Painters Local 476. He loved going to his second home in Benezette, woodworking, making lamps, and working on puzzles. He was always busy. He never had a spare moment. Carl had a service-driven heart. He was involved in many community projects; including the Mohawk School Board, First Covenant Church Board, Appalachia Service Project, Camp Mission Meadows Board of Directors, and numerous others.
Carl is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sheila Anderson McConnell, his son, Chad (Karen) McConnell, his granddaughter, Emily McConnell, two brothers, Kenneth (Diane) McConnell, and Kevin (Lisa) McConnell, two sisters, Vera Wilkins, and Elaine Mehaffey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene, and Clayton McConnell, and two brothers-in-law, John Mehaffey and Chuck Wilkins, and his mother and father-in-law, Leonard and Lois Anderson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Terry Cunningham Funeral Home, 203 Oak Street in Bessemer, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at First Covenant Church, in Bessemer PA.
Burial will take place in the First Covenant Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Benezette, PA., for friends to honor his memory.
