Beverly A. Grist

Beverly A. Grist, 88, of Bessemer, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025.

She was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, on October 19, 1937, a daughter of the late Willis and Dorothy (Wynder) Shumway.

Beverly devoted many years to Mohawk High School, where she proudly served as the head baker in the cafeteria. Baking was more than a job for her — it was an expression of love. At home, her kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and generosity. She also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and had a lifelong love for her cats.

Beverly is survived by her children, Paul Grist, Jr. (Melissa), Louis Grist (Tara), Dorothy Livesay, and Judy Grist (Jimmy); ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul E. Grist, Sr., whom she married on October 1, 1955, and four sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. and the funeral service to follow at Terry Cunningham Funeral Home, 203 Oak Street, Bessemer, Pennsylvania.

Burial will take place at Poland Riverside Cemetery Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 10:00am.
